Festive Fun and Fundraising at Sandstone Brook’s Christmas Fair

Sandstone Brook was full of festive cheer on Saturday 15th November as we hosted our Christmas Fair and what an incredible, heart warming day it was! We’re delighted to share that the event was a great success, with £400 raised, which will be split between our Resident Fund and SSAFA Shropshire, the Armed Forces Charity. As a Veteran-friendly accredited home, supporting those who have served remains an important part of who we are.

We were thrilled with the turnout from residents, families, friends, and members of our local community. The atmosphere was warm and festive, and many of our residents commented on how much they enjoyed browsing the Christmas stalls. Several even said they’d managed to tick off a good portion of their Christmas shopping right here in the home, including our much-loved Boutique Gift Shop.

Our raffle was a highlight of the fair, and we want to give a heartfelt thank you to the wonderful local businesses who donated prizes to help make the day such a success. Their generosity means so much to our residents and to the wider community.

A huge thank you to Emma, our Activities Coordinator, for her weeks of hard work bringing this event to life, from organising stalls to gathering donations and making sure every detail felt festive. We’d also like to thank her mum and goddaughter for their incredible support, with her mum going above and beyond in sourcing tombola prizes, organising cakes, and running the café on the day. Their dedication and community spirit were invaluable.

As a proud Veteran-friendly, accredited home, supporting military charities is close to our hearts. We’re honoured to continue raising funds for SSAFA, the UK’s oldest tri-service military charity, and we’re grateful to everyone who helped make this event such a success.
