What people say about us?

Today I managed to get into his room to see him after a Covid-19 screen. It was amazing to just sit with him and see him in person again. I have to give credit to the amazing staff who have had quite a journey to reassure residents and their families and to keep in touch regarding health issues. They are responsive to our enquires on how Dad is and I appreciate that they print and deliver my weekly letters to Dad. It is very challenging for all care homes at the moment but a big well done and thank you to Burnside staff for their efforts.” Heather W (Daughter of Resident)

Daughter of Resident

Both my Mum and Dad have been residents of Burnside for the last +3 years. Sadly, Dad recently passed away and this caused me to stop and reflect on the quality of care provided by Burnside. Dad was so well looked after and it was lovely to see him develop such a strong bond with a number of the staff. I appreciate that ‘caring’ is what you do, but I feel that at Burnside, you successfully combine top-quality care together with compassion and a sense of fun – a great mix that creates a lovely environment for the residents. It was an environment/atmosphere which suited Dad down to the ground. Although this review was really prompted by Dad's passing, Mum, who recently celebrated her 91st birthday, is also very happy and content at Burnside. Thank you to all members of staff.

Son of Resident

My father has been in Burnside care home throughout lockdown. The staff have worked so hard to keep all residents Covid-19 free but allow families to communicate through window visits and Skype. He was the first person I knew to have his 2 vaccinations given. My father is profoundly deaf yet we have managed to work with staff to see how he is and keep in touch with the outside world. Daughter of Resident

Our Mum was admitted to Burnside Nursing Home in early January, having spent six months in hospital following a major stroke. Having spent weeks investigating various nursing homes in the area, Burnside was the only place that we felt confident could meet Mum’s medical needs. The manager and staff made Mum very welcome and we immediately felt that she was in safe hands, despite Covid restrictions. The communication from the nursing staff and carers was helpful since restrictions meant we were unable to visit. We would recommend this care home to anyone who may be at that stage, where a nursing home decision is imminent.

Daughter of Resident

At Burnside Care Home the emphasis is very much on CARING, both for residents and their family. During this last difficult year, the Manager and super friendly staff have excelled, especially in keeping Burnside COVID free and continuing to maintain their normal routine of ensuring residents are both entertained and exercised. Where possible, within the restraints of 2020/21, visiting has been welcome and well organised.

Wife of Resident

My Dad is currently in Burnside for Respite care. I cannot fault the care he is receiving. He is very settled and not in a hurry to go home. Cannot thank the admin staff and nurses enough for everything. Even went to the lengths to take photos of him and send them to me. Thank you all.
