Residents, relatives, colleagues and members of the local community came together at Anavo’s Wessex Lodge Care Home in Whitchurch to support Dementia UK’s annual Time for a Cuppa fundraising campaign.
The event raised an impressive £312, helping to fund more Admiral Nurses who provide specialist dementia support to families across the UK.
Guests enjoyed an afternoon of tea, cake and conversation, while raising awareness of the vital role Admiral Nurses play in supporting people living with dementia and their loved ones.
Sherlyn Rowland, Home Manager at Wessex Lodge, said:
“We were delighted to take part in Dementia UK’s Time for a Cuppa campaign and are incredibly grateful to everyone who joined us and contributed to this fantastic cause. The £312 raised will help support more families affected by dementia to access the specialist guidance and support provided by Admiral Nurses. It was wonderful to see our community come together for such an important cause.”
Admiral Nurses provide expert practical, emotional and clinical support to families facing the challenges of dementia, helping them navigate every stage of their journey.
The Time for a Cuppa campaign is a nationwide initiative that encourages communities to host tea events and raise funds to help Dementia UK expand its network of specialist dementia nurses.
The successful event reflects Wessex Lodge’s ongoing commitment to supporting residents, families and the wider community, while championing causes that make a meaningful difference to people’s lives.
