Lancing Beach Care Home, part of Anavo Group, officially celebrated its Grand Opening last Thursday, welcoming residents, relatives, local businesses, community members and local representatives for a memorable afternoon inspired by the traditional British seaside.
The event marked an important milestone for the home as it officially opened its doors to the local community, bringing together guests of all ages to enjoy entertainment, refreshments and the opportunity to explore the stunning new care home.
A special highlight of the afternoon saw Brian Thomson, husband to Lancing Beach’s very first resident Rosie Thomson, perform the official ribbon cutting ceremony, helping to mark the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the home.
Guests enjoyed a range of seaside inspired treats, including fish and chips cooked by in house chef, beautifully branded cupcakes from Beehive Bakes, and delicious ice cream served from a vintage ice cream van provided by Sussex Scoops.
The event also showcased the incredible talent of local performers. Professional harpist Andi Myles-Wright welcomed guests with a stunning live performance, while professional singer Leila Tasher kept the celebrations going throughout the afternoon with an entertaining set enjoyed by residents and visitors alike.
Lancing Beach Care Home was delighted to receive support from several local and independent businesses who helped make the event such a success, reflecting the home’s commitment to supporting the local economy and building strong community connections from day one.
Representatives from the local council, community groups, neighbouring businesses, relatives, friends and family members were all in attendance, helping to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere that truly reflected the spirit of the Lancing community.
Edward Moore, Director at Anavo, said:
“We were thrilled to see so many people join us for the official opening of Lancing Beach Care Home. The event was a wonderful opportunity to introduce ourselves to the community, celebrate with our residents and families, and showcase the incredible home our team has created.
We would like to thank all of the local businesses, performers and community members who supported the event. Seeing our very first resident, Brian Thomson, cut the ribbon made the day particularly special and perfectly reflected what Lancing Beach is all about; community, connection and creating a place where people can truly feel at home.”
The successful launch marks the beginning of an exciting future for Lancing Beach Care Home as it continues to welcome new residents and build meaningful relationships within the local community.
