Spooky Halloween fun at Spiers Care Home

Spiers Care Home in Beith marked Halloween with a party full of fun, spooky costumes and delicious treats.

Michael Deadman, the Home’s Activities Coordinator, said: “Our residents enjoy occasions where everyone dresses up and can join in a themed day full of fun. It’s a great chance to socialise and have a bit of a laugh.”

The residents and staff participated in a ‘Best Halloween Costume’ and ‘The Best Decorated Lounge’ competition and enjoyed singing along to all the Halloween music while some of the residents took to the dance floor and danced away. The home’s chef, Barbra and the kitchen team prepared terrifyingly delicious treats, including spooky eyeball and spider web cakes.

Halloween is one of many themed parties the home has held recently. From a ‘First Class Train’ experience, ‘The Spiers Olympics’, to a ‘Wild West Day’, Spiers Care Home holds various events to keep the residents engaged and entertained.

Spiers Care Home Manager, Alison Ravandi, said: “The team at Spiers are brilliant, and they are very creative in considering the abilities and wishes of every resident to make sure they can all participate and have fun.”

Spiers Care Home, operated by Anavo Group, offers nursing and dementia care. The care home has particular expertise in assisting residents with specific medical needs with a team of highly skilled registered nurses.
