Marlborough House, part of Anavo Group, is celebrating a ‘Good’ rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC), recognising the dedication of its staff and the support of its wider community.
The care home in Church Crookham, Fleet, was rated ‘Good’ across all five areas assessed: safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led.
The achievement provided an opportunity to thank every member of the Marlborough House team, alongside the community professionals, families, friends and Anavo senior leadership team who have supported the home.
Liz Windle, Home Manager at Marlborough House, said: “We are incredibly proud of our ‘Good’ CQC rating. This is a moment to publicly thank every single member of staff for their dedication, compassion and contribution to this achievement. Their commitment to the people who live here is at the heart of everything we do.
“I also want to thank our community colleagues, families, friends and senior leadership team for their continued encouragement and support. The feedback we have received so far has been incredible, and it means so much to the whole team.”
Entertainment for the celebration was provided by Robbie Lee and the home’s very own Activities Coordinator, Ella, helping to make the occasion extra special.
Alongside celebrating its CQC success, Marlborough House recognised its valued relationship with Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice. Sales of Christmas cards and gifts raised just over £700 for the charity.
The home extended particular thanks to Lucy Shires, Community Fundraiser at Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice, and Aedin O’Flaherty, Care Homes Matron, for their continued support.
As well as clinical input, the hospice offers extensive training programmes. Many Marlborough House staff have benefited from sessions delivered both at the hospice and within the home, helping them develop their knowledge and skills.
Liz added: “Our relationship with Phyllis Tuckwell means a great deal to us. Their clinical guidance and training have been invaluable to our staff, and we are delighted to give something back through our fundraising. Thank you to everyone who bought Christmas cards and gifts and helped us raise just over £700.”
The team at Marlborough House looks forward to building on this achievement and continuing to work with residents, families and community partners to provide thoughtful, person-led care.

Caring for those you love can be tough. But you need to be kind to yourself, too.
