The home has 43 private rooms all with en-suite WC, or full en-suite facilities. There are a number of comfortable lounges and dining rooms, all of which are well-appointed and offer the opportunity for residents to comfortably socialise. The home benefits from landscaped grounds including patios and courtyard spaces for residents to enjoy. There is onsite parking for visiting family and friends, and the centre of Beith’s high street, with all its amenities, is a short walk.

The Role

As a Senior Care Assistant, you will be required to:

 

  • To be responsible for the safe dispersal of medication as well as undertake delegated duties from the Nurse in Charge which are within assessed competencies.
  • Ensure the highest levels of care are maintained by supporting and assisting our residents, when required, for their personal care with washing, toileting, dressing, undressing, as well as all other aspects of their daily living.
  • Provide support to the Registered Nurses.
  • Supervise Care Assistants.
  • Assist in the delivery of care for our residents at the end of their lives as well as those who have progressive illnesses.
  • Observe care planning needs for our residents and complete daily updates to their care plans.
  • Assist in social activities by interacting with our residents and helping them continue with hobbies and activities.

 

You will also be required to:

 

  • Register with the relevant professional bodies.
  • Maintain professional knowledge and competence.
  • Complete mandatory training days and online courses.
  • Participate in relevant SVQ training to achieve required qualifications.

 

Essential candidate criteria:

 

  • SVQ3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
  • Experience of providing high quality care within the Care Home environment.
  • Understand care documentation and clinical assessment.
