The Role

As an Activities Co-Ordinator , you will be required to:

 

  • Make a difference to the lives of older people and adults with a disability. To encourage independence and choice in a homely environment.
  • Show courtesy and respect to resident and relatives. To retain the confidentiality of residents and their families at all times.
  • Greet all visitors in a friendly, courteous and efficient manner and promote the Home positively.
  • Maintain good working relations with colleagues at all times. Employees are required not to engage in, or permit fellow employees to engage in, any unlawful discrimination against employees, residents or relatives.
  • Attend and participate in training sessions and staff and relatives meetings as and when required.
  • Be aware of and comply with, all Company rules, policies and procedures

 

As an Activities Coordinator, you will be required to:

 

  • Develop meaningful person centered plans for daily activities.
  • Refer to relevant documentation relating to residents’ individual personal needs.
  • Provide therapeutic activities to help with differing physical, psychosocial and mental health needs.
  • Liaise with community groups to ensure that residents have access to clubs and activities outside the Care Home.
  • Plan outings including arranging transport.
  • Be creative in sourcing interesting and diverse entertainers.
  • Liaise with residents, relatives and colleagues in order to deliver the best service to our residents.

 

You will also be required to:

 

  • Register with the relevant professional bodies.
  • Maintain professional knowledge and competence.
  • Complete mandatory training days and online courses.
