Anavo Group Launches Flexible Return to Work Programme for Parents at Surbiton Care Home

Anavo Group has launched a new ‘Return to Work’ Parent Programme at its Surbitonian Gardens care home in Surbiton, creating a flexible and supportive employment pathway specifically designed to help parents re-enter the workforce with confidence.

The initiative reflects Anavo Group’s commitment to inclusive recruitment and recognises the untapped talent and life experience that parents bring to the workplace. It aims to remove common barriers faced by those returning to work after raising children by offering meaningful roles, structured support, and flexibility built around family life.

The programme is currently recruiting for Care Assistants and an Activities Coordinator, providing opportunities for parents to step into rewarding, people-focused roles within the care sector.

Recognising the Value of Parenting Experience

At the heart of the programme is the belief that parenting develops a powerful set of transferable skills highly suited to care roles, including empathy, patience and resilience.

These qualities are central to delivering high-quality, person-centred care. The programme welcomes applicants from all backgrounds, with no previous care experience required. Instead, it focuses on attitude, values and a genuine desire to make a difference.

Full paid training is provided, alongside ongoing development and access to funded qualifications, enabling participants to build long-term careers within the care sector.

Designed Around Family Life

The ‘Return to Work’ Parent Programme has been designed with flexibility at its core, offering:

  • Minimum 16-hour contracts
  • Morning (9am–1pm) or evening (7pm–11pm) shifts
  • Options for split and additional shifts where preferred
  • A supportive approach to tailoring working patterns around family commitments
  • Competitive pay and long-term career development opportunities

This approach allows parents to build stable and rewarding careers while maintaining balance at home. Those interested in applying can view current opportunities here:

“We know that parents develop incredible skills through lived experience from patience and resilience to organisation and empathy. This programme is about recognising that value and creating genuine opportunities for people to build fulfilling careers in care, in a way that works around their family life.” – Nicky Hazel, Home Manager, Surbitonian Gardens
